Friday: On Our Way
My phone starting dinging early in the morning. As was not uncommon during the summer of 2022, flights were being changed. We ended up leaving a couple of hours later than planned which shortened our layover in Newark. Luckily we still got our preferred seats on the trip from Newark to Rome--the back row where there are two seats rather than three. We didn't have a stranger on top of us, we had easy restroom access and a bit of extra leg room. Still I will say the worst part of the whole trip was the flight from Newark to Rome.
This was our "we're done!" trip. We've had minor kids in the house for thirty years, but in May the baby turned 18 and graduated from high school. We no longer had to worry about putting an ocean between us and a minor child. It was time to fulfill some parental dreams!
